The sareba Installer now also installs services that need registration, starting with the StackInOne agent.

Install the StackInOne agentPrograms that run as a system service and sign in to their platform can now be set up through the installer. It asks for the server address and registration code, installs the signed files, registers and starts the service. Afterwards the agent updates itself; the installer only shows its version.

Always with admin rights on WindowsOn Windows the installer asks for admin rights once at start. Programs for all users and services then install without a restart in the middle, and the daily check keeps them up to date too.

update installs nothing new“update <program>” no longer installs a program that is not installed yet; it reports this with exit code 3. IT can therefore run update on every computer.

Daily task on macOSAfter a self-update through the daily task, the task stayed disabled on macOS until the next login. It now stays loaded.

Findable right awayThe installer sets itself up on first start: on Windows it is in the start menu and search and can be pinned to the taskbar, on Linux in the application menu with its icon, on macOS in ~/Applications.

Own copies recognisedPrograms that came without the installer (e.g. secrets-tool downloaded directly and placed in the PATH) are now shown as “own copy” with location and version. The installer does not update them because they update themselves. This needs an installer.json with im_pfad, for secrets-tool from its next version.

Starting on macOSThe copy in ~/Applications starts without detouring through a random path (quarantine flag removed after Gatekeeper accepted the app).

Starting on macOSVersion 1.0.1 did not start on macOS (“Failed to create CoreCLR”) because its signature lacked the rights the .NET runtime needs. Nothing changes on Windows and Linux.
